Today was our first official day of ‘Tot School’! I wanted to create an engaging and educational environment for my little one, and what better way to kick things off than with a themed activity centered around the beloved children’s book, “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom.” With its vibrant illustrations and catchy rhyme scheme, this timeless classic has captivated young readers for decades.
A Fun and Interactive Learning Experience
Creating a sensory-rich environment, I set up a magnetic alphabet tree on a metal baking sheet. This interactive activity not only promotes fine motor skills but also introduces early literacy concepts. My little one was engrossed in matching the colorful magnetic letters to the corresponding spots on the tree, reinforcing letter recognition and letter-sound associations.
To complement our hands-on activity, we dived into a pile of well-loved copies of the book. As we read, I pointed out the letters and encouraged my little one to identify them. This interactive reading experience sparked a newfound excitement for letters and words, as each page turned revealed another opportunity for exploration and learning.
Extending the Learning with Crafts
